Oticon Hearing Aids

Acousticon devices were the first hearing aids produced by Oticon in 1904.

In partnership with Charles Lehman, American-Danish Oticon Corporation became the leading provider of hearing aids after World War II, enjoying a global presence by 1965.

Their first ultra-discreet in-the-ear (ITE) hearing device was introduced in 1977 and their first digital device in 1996.

The first hearing instruments with improved sound sensitivity as well as streaming and connectivity features went public in 2007.

The focus of Oticon in the 21st century has been on Brain Hearing and the development of Life Changing Technology for hearing aid users with a “people first” approach.

Hearing Technology Solutions from Oticon

Oticon’s Brain Hearing philosophy focuses on supporting how the brain processes sound, facilitating the process with the necessary elements to create meaning from sound rather than amping up the volume of sound.

The company’s Opn solution, developed in 2016, optimized the ability of hearing aid wearers to distinguish between multiple speakers within a noisy environment and became the first hearing instrument with internet connectivity (ConnectClip) using the IFTTT (If This Then That) Network.

For twenty five years, Oticon has used digital technology in the development of higher quality sound and enhanced instrument performance. Using micro-digital technology, the devices developed by them have become increasingly smaller without sacrificing performance

Oticon created integrated Tinnitus SoundSupport in their hearing device, which transmits white noise and other tinnitus masking sounds for auditory relief, by taking advantage of connectivity options.

“I am a happy customer of Dr. J. J. Martinez. I have a profound hearing loss that demands an Audiologist with patience and expertise, and these are the qualities that make him stand out. He is currently working with me on my third pair of hearing aids that I have been fitted with over the years, so I know how important it is to get the right person to work with. I highly recommend him.”
