Comprehensive Hearing Tests
When was the last time you or your loved one had a hearing test?
It’s true that we consider regular dental, blood pressure and cholesterol checks to be important, and yet, for some reason, checking our hearing remains bottom of many of our agenda – why is that?
Many studies suggest that 1 in 8 Americans have a hearing loss, with many common signs often going unnoticed because of a lack of testing.
Well, we think it’s time to change that, and make people aware of how much better their life could be if only they added ‘hearing’ to their list of regular check-ups, starting with the good people of Louisiana, and more specifically, you…
If you are here because you are concerned about your hearing, or you’re worried about a loved one’s hearing, then we strongly encourage you to schedule a hearing test,
Although it can feel like a big step, this quick and non-invasive assessment will give you results instantaneously, so you will know there and then whether you need further treatment; compare this to not having a test and leaving a potential problem to get worse and well, it’s a no brainer really.
To schedule your comprehensive hearing assessment, you can complete the form to the right, or call our friendly team on 985-273–5795 .
“I am a happy customer of Dr. J. J. Martinez. I have a profound hearing loss that demands an Audiologist with patience and expertise, and these are the qualities that make him stand out. He is currently working with me on my third pair of hearing aids that I have been fitted with over the years, so I know how important it is to get the right person to work with. I highly recommend him.”

What To Expect At Your Hearing Assessment
1. You’ll Be Welcomed Into Our Office
When you arrive, you’ll be asked to wait in our comfortable seating area where you’ll be kindly asked to complete some paperwork.
2. Friendly Conversation
Your audiologist will ask you a few questions about your lifestyle and family and health history, which is necessary for us to provide the most personalized care possible
3. We’ll Perform The Hearing Test
Beginning with a physical examination of your ears, we follow that with a simple test to measure the reaction of your hearing structures when stimulated by sounds. After that, you’ll be fit with a set of headphones inside a soundproof booth, whereby you’ll be asked to respond to each sound you hear. Depending on what your audiologist discovers, you might be asked to undergo additional testing.
4. You’ll Get Your Results There And Then
One of our doctors of audiology will plot your results on an audiogram and discuss the outcome with you. Usually, we find no issue with your hearing, which is where we thank you for visiting us and invite you to schedule your next hearing assessment for the following year. In the case that your results highlight some level of hearing loss, we’ll sit down with you and discuss your options in a comfortable environment – leaving the decision completely in your hands.
