Meet Jeni A. Dunnington, Au.D., CCC-A, F-AAA

Dr. Jeni A. Dunnington grew up in Loranger, LA and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond.

She received her doctor of audiology degree from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA.

As a valued audiologist at SLENT Hearing and Balance Center, Dr. Jeni Dunnington evaluates, treats, and counsels patients on hearing and balance disorders.

Working to identify how their issues affect their daily lives, she prescribes appropriate hearing instruments for hearing loss and tinnitus as well as treatment for very common balance disorders.

While she loves the diversity of the role, she wouldn’t be able to do her job without the team, which she describes as “family.” She takes great pride in giving her patients full comprehensive hearing and balance healthcare and being a part of the SLENT Hearing and Balance Center family allows her to do just that!

Personally, any time she can help provide her patients with a tool to make communication with their loved ones easier, she considers them a success! Her favorite, however, is when the patient initially comes in, typically by force, and thinks they hear just fine.

After testing, they show that they are indeed missing many aspects of not only speech but the world around them. They reluctantly agree to treatment and, at their one-week follow-up, they reveal that they do not know how they ever lived without the devices!

When she is not at the clinic, her time is typically spent with her husband, John, their daughter, Marae, and puppy, Cider. They enjoy their free time at family camp and boating. She also has the privilege of educating those interested in the field of audiology at South-eastern Louisiana University.
